Loss Prevention Survey Co-ordinator - Greece
Reporting to Loss Prevention Manager
Overall objectives:
An integral part of the Club’s Loss Prevention Team in arranging and overseeing pre-load steel surveys and operational surveys for Europe based Members and Assureds.
Key duties:
To co-ordinate pre-load steel surveys and other operational survey files when allocated.
To appoint and oversee inspectors, surveyors and specialists to carry out pre-load steel surveys/operational surveys most effectively and obtain specialist advice where operational surveys require it.
To assist with the maintenance of an up-to-date list of preferred inspectors and surveyors.
To liaise with Members, inspectors and surveyors to ensure the Club’s survey requirements are fully met by clear presentation and interaction.
To ensure that one stays abreast of relevant technical and procedural developments.
To provide general technical and operational loss prevention advices to Members under supervision of the LP Manager, as required.
To provide general advice to Claims Handlers and Underwriters in connection the Pre-load Steel Survey Program and Operations Surveys in general.
To assist the LP Manager in gathering and monitoring data in relation to pre-load and operational surveys and in identifying issues, trends or risks.
To assist with the production of Loss Prevention Material and Website Bulletins or other publications on social media platforms of the Club, and to contribute to loss prevention presentation or seminars, as required and under the supervision of the LP Manager.

Communication
Must have good oral and written skills (inter alia, to give clear, concise instructions to service providers and explain actions/situation to members).
Verification
Must be able to demonstrate an ability to identify with the assistance of others what information and document to request from members, brokers or service providers in order to complete a task
Decisiveness
Be able to act promptly to deal with matters and inquiries (including appointments of correspondents and technical experts).
Judgment
Must know when to escalate matters to line manager or senior member of the team.
Presentation
To be able to present data and reports to, inter alia, the LP Manager.
Team Working
To coordinate team working on tasks (underwriters and claims adjusters etc.)
Problem Solving
To analyse survey and technical reports in order to identify issues, oversee performance of surveyors or gathering data
Education
A relevant bachelor degree or equivalent in shipping related subject.
Experience
A minimum of between 6 and 12 months work experience in a shipping survey or management or operating firm, or seagoing experience
Technical
Use of e-mail, word processing, excel, Microsoft systems/software and AI system.
Other
Must be prepared to respond out of hours to incidents. Provision of contact details out of hours is a requirement.
