Blue Cards - Issuance to Registered Owners only (T.028)

This circular confirms that London P&I and the other International Group clubs will issue Blue Cards only to the person or persons registered as the owner of the ship. The change follows agreement that bareboat charterers must no longer be named on Blue Cards for CLC tankers.

It also explains that the practice of naming bareboat charterers in Blue Cards does not reflect the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage, 1992.
