Brazil updates visa requirements for Chinese seafarers

London P&I notes an update to Brazilian immigration controls affecting Chinese seafarers. The visa exemption has been broadened for seafarers serving on ships flying the flags of administrative and autonomous regions of the People's Republic of China, where they hold Chinese seafarer passports.

As mentioned in previous news alerts on Brazilian immigration controls, there is already a visa exemption for Chinese crew serving on board Chinese flagged vessels. Brazilian immigration authorities have now extended that exemption to cover the additional vessels and seafarers described above.
