This circular explains London P&I’s recommended standard form letters of indemnity for delivery of cargo without the original bill of lading and/or at a port other than that stated in the bill of lading.

It also sets out the main features of the wording, including financial limits, duration of security, scope of security, tanker provisions and the need for members to consider the risks carefully before agreeing to these arrangements.
