Confirmation of Ship Entry in the Association (5.312)

London P&I explains that it is generally unable to provide individual confirmations of entry directly to third parties, as doing so could create liability beyond the terms of cover. Members are instead encouraged to refer requesters to the website’s Ship Search facility or provide a copy of the Certificate of Entry where appropriate.

The circular was issued to help reduce the administrative burden on Members when charterers, port authorities and others ask for confirmation that a vessel is entered for cover.
