Continuing Warranty of Seaworthiness (5.561)

This circular warns Members that agreeing to a continuing warranty of seaworthiness for the full voyage may affect P&I cover for cargo claims.

London P&I explains that cargo cover is conditional on contract terms not being less favourable than the Hague Visby Rules. A warranty that extends throughout the voyage goes beyond the HVR standard and can leave resulting claims outside cover.
