This circular explains the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, its entry into force on 20 August 2013, and the financial security requirements it introduces for repatriation and death or long-term disability claims.

London P&I also outlines how standard P&I cover is being extended to include repatriation in insolvency and other MLC repatriation circumstances, and notes that evidence of financial security may be required by individual States.
