Excess War Risks P&I Cover (5.305)

London P&I explains that, following developments in the war risks market, it has issued seven days' notice of cancellation for excess war risks P&I cover. The notice applies from 2400 hours GMT on 17 October 2001, with cover due to be automatically reinstated from 2400 hours GMT on 24 October 2001, subject to the stated excess and limit.

This circular also reminds members that excess war risks P&I cover is not a substitute for market war risks cover. It is intended to respond only to claims above amounts recoverable under a member's underlying war risk policy, including P&I risks.
