General Average - "York Antwerp Rules (YAR) 2016" adopted by the Comite Maritime International (CMI) (5.534)

London P&I explains that the York Antwerp Rules 2016 have been adopted by the Comite Maritime International after a long review process. The revised rules address several of the main concerns raised about the 2004 version and are now recommended for use in future shipping contracts.

The circular also notes that supporting guidelines on general average were approved alongside the rules. London P&I says that incorporating the YAR 2016 in members' contracts will not affect club cover.
