INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN OFFERED A SHIPMENT OF IRON FINES THAT MAY CONTAIN DRI (C) (5.463)

This circular explains how London P&I expects members to identify and assess iron fines and similar blends that may contain DRI (C) before shipment. It sets out the chemical analysis, certification and cargo information needed to support safe carriage under the IMSBC Code.

London P&I also highlights the risks of misdescribed cargoes, the circumstances in which exemptions may be considered, and the additional information the master should receive where DRI (C) is offered for carriage.
