International Safety Management Code (5.257)

This circular reminds members that the International Safety Management Code is now in force for the vessel types required to comply by 1 July 1998. London P&I also highlights that valid certification is not enough on its own: members must ensure the Code is properly implemented and that their vessels comply with Rule 8.7.

London P&I warns that failure to meet these requirements may affect claims recovery, except at the discretion of the Committee.
