Japanese Hazardous Substances Spill Preparedness Legislation (5.374)
This circular explains Japanese legislation requiring certain tankers carrying hazardous and noxious substances to have access to spill response equipment and expertise when sailing in specified areas of Japan.
London P&I also notes that shipowners must pre-contract with the Maritime Disaster Prevention Center and that an additional insurance arrangement was put in place temporarily, with details available from the Managers.
