Maritime Labour Convention 2006 As Amended (MLC) – Liability for Uninsured MLC Liabilities (5.554)

London P&I explains how liabilities under the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 as amended are treated when they fall outside standard P&I cover. The circular reminds Members to obtain authority from co-assureds before signing the MLC Application Form, and confirms that co-assureds may be jointly and severally liable to reimburse London P&I for certain uninsured MLC liabilities.

This update also reflects the MLC Extension Clause 2016 used when London P&I issues MLC Certificates.
