New IG/CINS Guidelines for the Carriage of Calcium Hypochlorite in Containers (5.529)

London P&I highlights new joint IG/CINS guidelines for the carriage of calcium hypochlorite in containers. The guidance brings together relevant IMDG Code requirements and additional precautions intended to support safer carriage, reduce the risk of mis-declaration, and give carriers greater confidence when accepting properly declared cargo.

The circular also explains the cargo's hazardous properties, sets out packaging and container recommendations, and summarises the stowage and segregation measures that apply.
