London P&I confirms that special arrangements will again apply for the 2011/12 policy year to cover United States OPA 90 pollution liabilities for tankers, which are otherwise excluded under the Rules.

Members who want this cover must agree to make quarterly declarations by 20 February 2011. The circular also sets out the additional premium rates, which are lower than in 2010/11, and explains the different rates for vessels with segregated ballast tanks.
