Oil Pollution in the US - Tanker Voyage Premium Surcharge System - 2002/03 policy year (5.31)

This circular explains London P&I’s tanker voyage premium surcharge system for voyages to or from the United States during the 2002/03 policy year. It sets out the revised surcharge rates, the circumstances in which the U.S. oil pollution exclusion applies, and the quarterly declaration requirements members must follow if they want the exclusion lifted.

It also includes guidance on segregated ballast tanks, parcel tankers, LOOP, ship-to-ship transfers in the U.S. exclusive economic zone, and the definitions used when completing voyage declarations.
