Regulations of the Peoples Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Marine Pollution from Ships (5.404)

This circular explains the introduction of the People’s Republic of China regulations on the prevention and control of marine pollution from ships, and the position on pre-contracting with approved pollution response contractors.

London P&I notes that the regulations are expected to take effect on 1 March 2010, while the requirement to conclude a clean-up contract before entering a PRC port is understood not to be enforced immediately.
