Regulations of The People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Marine Pollution from Ships (5.439)

London P&I updates members on the People's Republic of China regulations on the prevention and control of marine pollution from ships, including the planned requirement to contract with an approved pollution response company before entering a Chinese port.

We explain that the list of approved contractors has been delayed, while the current understanding remains that the requirement will apply in all Chinese ports from 1 January 2012. London P&I also advises members to wait for further guidance before taking action.
