Revisions of the TOVALOP Charterparty Clause (5.236)

This circular explains why London P&I recommends resisting attempts to revise the TOVALOP charterparty clause after the TOVALOP Agreement expired on 20 February 1997.

London P&I notes that some proposed revisions could increase owners' exposure to oil pollution-related costs and affect P&I cover. The circular also clarifies how pollution damage and preventive measures are treated under general average and the York/Antwerp Rules 1994.
