Despina Malaxianaki

Biography

My role is to assist members through every difficult condition experienced during ship operations. I very much enjoy it when my intervention helps achieve the best possible solution for members, Masters, and crew. I spent 22 years as an in-house lawyer for Greek shipowners, so I understand their position, way of thinking, and their feeling for their vessels and crew when something goes wrong. Most of my career has been spent as an owners’ lawyer, or claims and insurance manager, and my 12 years at the club have added more variety, helping me understand the perspectives of charterers and insurers.
