Philippines: nickel ore

London P&I reminds members considering fixtures or orders to load nickel ore to be particularly vigilant when the cargo is offered from a port that is not near a nickel ore mine.

Pandiman Philippines Inc, London P&I's correspondent in the Philippines, reports that problems have arisen in connection with a nickel ore cargo offered for shipment from such a port.

Members should be aware of the dangers associated with carrying nickel ore. The cargo may liquefy if its moisture content exceeds the Transportable Moisture Limit.
